some pictures for laura...

So my friend Laura says she misses seeing my pictures on facebook, so here are some of the few I've taken this year (besides the ton I've taken for projects for classes!!)

This is my friend Sara and me at an Alabama football game

Jordan and me at a game! Roll Tide Roll!!
Tory and me at a game...pretty much consumes our lives!

Jordan decided to shave his head to cut
down on hair cut costs. He left a little bit
for a small mohawk. I told him if he got to
shave his head, I got to...

dye mine!

roll tide and a little thankfulness

I usually try not to be obnoxious when it comes to football. However...my team is undefeated, ranked number 1, and beat our rival 36-0. I grew up 20 miles northeast of Auburn, so I must say I think this victory may be a little sweeter to me than to those who did not have to go through years and years of torture because you were a minority in a town that bled orange and blue. So....Roll Tide!!

Also...I know Thanksgiving has passed, but I have so much to be thankful for; here are a few things I am thankful for from over the break--
1. Getting to hang out with the best friends in the world and catching up right where we left off
2. 83 family members at my family's Thanksgiving
3. Getting some precious items from my sweet Grandmother's house that give me a physical way to remember her--number one item-teddy bears that always sat in a chair in her house
4. 10 hours of sleep in one night
5. playing with my turner
6. Hanging out with my camp family
7. Hanging out my awesome real family
8. Beating Auburn 36-0

a little lady with a lot of love

Hey guys, I don't usually write on this, but I decided I would for those couple of people that might see it to catch you up on my life...

God has been teaching me so much lately. I feel like I'm a different person than I was before this past summer. Some of you may know, but in May my grandmother was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She passed away on October 4. My grandmother was amazing if you didn't know her. For those that did, I'm sure she left a mark on you even if you only met her on one or two occasions. She absolutely loved life and lived a long full life of 81 years. She loved Jesus and that love she had for our Savior was so evident to all that came in contact with her. I was completely broken over her sickness and especially over her death. However, the Lord used this exceptional lady to teach me some pretty big things.

My family, along with some family friends from Houston, took my sweet grandmother to the State Farmers Market in Montgomery in June. It was so amazing that she spoke to each and every person working at booths and showed them love. It was even more amazing to hear what those people had to say about her. I heard such things as, "We've noticed your grandmother hasn't been around in a while." "You have such a special grandmother." A story was even told by two sisters to me about when my grandmother invited them to church and how she lit up when they showed up.

This was the life she lived. She was smaller than I, which is hard for some people to believe, but she had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. She loved all. She loved life. She was exuberant. She had a servant heart. Never once did she not thank one of the attendants at the nursing home where she spent her last days. She loved Alabama football and watched every second of the Georgia game that was played less than a week before she went on to be with our Lord. She loved music, playing the piano, and singing in the senior adult choir in her church. I find comfort in knowing that she is singing praises to our Lord at the top of her lungs in her high-pitched voice right now.

I count myself very fortunate to have had such an incredible lady in my life. I have learned so much from her life and want to emulate that in my life. I want to love sacrificially with all that I have. I want to live life to the fullest. I want to serve others. I want to live a life of passion.

This might have been a heavy post, but if you want to know what has been going on with me in the past months since the middle of May--this is what has been going on. God has taught me a lot through this little lady with a lot of love.
